Deb Oetjens Jackson - Foundation Board


Introducing New Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation Board Member

Traverse City, MI – November 18, 2015 – Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation ( is pleased to announce that Deb Oetjens Jackson has been appointed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation Board of Directors. As a trustee Ms. Jackson will be charged with securing support for endowment and annual giving funds, memorials, tributes, charitable gift annuities, special events, and most critically the campaign to bring PACE, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, to the region.

She embodies the spirit of community and loving care critical to fulfilling the Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation mission.”

Ms. Jackson is a social entrepreneur. Prior to this appointment she worked with her husband Dr. Mark Jackson, a certified Geriatrician and nursing home Medical Director, to develop and grow Northwest Michigan Long Term Care Specialists. Now part of iNDIGO Health Partners, the practice brings quality geriatric focused primary care to residents of nursing homes and assisted living centers. She now devotes her time to nonprofits and social causes offering her skills from a lengthy career in business management and marketing. Ms. Jackson is excited to join the Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation Board and continue her advocacy for the elderly in our community.  "The Pavilions is a gem in the realm of nursing homes and I am thrilled to be a part of the board," she says.

Ms. Jackson moved to Traverse City 10 years ago and lives by the philosophy, 'Bloom where you are planted."  She is Lay Leader at Central Church, President of the American Association of University Women and President Elect of the Zonta Club of Traverse City.  Deb has also taught Writing Your Life Story at NMC Extended Education.

Established in 1997, The Foundation oversees the development and fundraising endeavors of The Grand Traverse Pavilions.

Contributions to the Foundation are directed at those programs and services that are not funded by traditional reimbursement.  Monies raised, for example, provide assistance for individuals on fixed incomes to access our varied multi-aged programs and services, including adult day and overnight respite, rehabilitation, assisted living, and long-term skilled nursing care.

Regardless of ability to pay, Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation strives to ensure that there is full access to the programs and services of the Pavilions.  The Foundation provided more than $4.5 million last year in benevolent care to members of our community.
