Voluntary Benefits - Supplemental Coverage Aflac products compliment and support your existing medical coverage. However, you are not required to have medical coverage with your employer to participate in Aflac products.
Why do I need Voluntary Benefits?
Many people live from payday to payday or simply don’t want the risk of related unprotected health expenses. The added expenses of a serious illness or accident can be devastating to any family. Even if you have the “Platinum” of all major medical plans, it has absolutely no bearing on the Aflac benefits paid to you. Aflac is designed to pay you by providing cash directly to you and your family during the time of need. Out of pocket expenses for a major illness or accident can be life changing. Aflac provides the solution for you and your family and are extremely affordable. Various levels of coverage make it possible for everyone to design a product package that fits their own budget and personal needs.
Who is Eligible?
Full and part-time employees are eligible. Employees have the opportunity to enroll in insurance at their new hire enrollment period (first of the month following 60 days of employment), or during the annual Open Enrollment period each fall.
