The Pavilions is owned by Grand Traverse County and operated by the Grand Traverse County Department of Health and Human Services Board, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for aging adults and caregivers. Home to more than 300 residents and more than 400 employees, the 28 acre campus is rooted in a rich history that dates back to the early 20th Century. The unique architecture emulates 19th Century buildings on site, intricately balancing state-of-the-art accommodations with modern amenities. Fiscally self-sufficient for over two decades, Grand Traverse Pavilions provided more than $4.5 million last year in benevolent care to members of our community.
Grand Traverse Medical Care provides 24-hour skilled nursing care as well as a broad range of therapeutic, recreational, and nutritional services to 201 long-term care residents.
Private and semi-private suites offer handicap-accessible showers, breathtaking views of courtyards and terraces and exquisitely-decorated common areas.
The Cottages of Grand Traverse Pavilions offer services and amenities that enhance the quality of life of older adults.
Restored to their 19th century grandeur of exquisitely restored Victorian, Queen Anne and Italianate homes, The Cottages offer independence and assisted living to older adults who seek a supported living environment. The luxuriously comfortable accommodations are rented on a monthly basis. The trio of elegant residences - Evergreen, Hawthorn, and Willow - feature private suites, studio and one-bedroom apartments. Each Cottage has its own unique amenities such as 12 foot ceilings, beautifully crafted wood floors and old world style trim and transom, hipped and gabled roofs, and panoramic vistas that look out onto the surrounding grand lawn and arboretum.
The Grand Traverse Pavilions uses a wholistic approach to client centered care in our state-of-the-art Wellness Center. That philosophy, simply stated, suggests that wellness is more than fitness. It's an attitude, a way of life.
The Wellness Center features a complement of rehabilitative therapies and health and fitness programs. Included among the therapeutic services are physical, occupational, speech, recreational, and aquatic therapies along with restorative nursing.
Supervised care is available to adults 18 years of age and older who might benefit from enhanced socialization and recreation with peers. Participants are actively engaged in a variety of activities and field trips, including special intergenerational events.
Care givers who might consider Adult Day and/or Overnight Respite services for loved ones are individuals who are required to be away from home, for example, because of work commitments, medical appointments, shopping needs, or even a much-needed vacation.
