Traverse City, MI –June 13, 2016 –The Grand Traverse Pavilions’ will host their annual Strawberry Social and Collector Car Show on June 26, 2016 from 2-4 PM on the Grand Lawn feature the NMC Summer Concert Band. Admission is free and strawberry shortcake is available for purchase to $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.

“This is our ninth year hosting a Strawberry Social and Collector Car Show and it’s become an event our residents, their families, and the entire community enjoys,” says Kory Hansen, Administrator/CEO of Grand Traverse Pavilions. “With the addition of entertainment provided by the NMC Summer Concert Band, we expect an even bigger crowd this year.”

The Northwestern Michigan College Concert Band is an adult musical organization supported by the College and made up of community members and NMC students. Since its inception, it has grown from a small group of musicians to a group of 80+ artists today. The band is directed by Patricia Brumbaugh.

The Collector Car Show is put on with the help of Don and Kay Rettelle of Traverse City, who help get the word out to auto owners. Strawberries come from a local farm, and are hulled by a group of resident volunteers and prepared in the Pavilions kitchen.

Proceeds benefit Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation and will go directly to the potential PACE, Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly program.

About Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation

Established in 1997, The Foundation oversees the development and fundraising endeavors of The Grand Traverse Pavilions.

Contributions to the Foundation are directed at those programs and services that are not funded by traditional reimbursement.  Monies raised, for example, provide assistance for individuals on fixed incomes to access our varied multi-aged programs and services, including adult day and overnight respite, rehabilitation, assisted living, and long-term skilled nursing care.

Regardless of ability to pay, Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation strives to ensure that there is full access to the programs and services of the Pavilions.  The Foundation provided more than $4.5 million last year in benevolent care to members of our community.
