Gerard Bodalski serves as CEO/Administrator of Grand Traverse Pavilions. Mr. Bodalski is a healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience in skilled nursing, post-acute care, medically complex specialty unit development and assisted/independent living. He is a licensed health facility administrator in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. He has had regional multi-facility responsibilities in the mid-Atlantic states, New England, the Midwest and Florida. Several of his facilities have won the prestigious American Healthcare Association Quality Award. He has served as a presenter at statewide healthcare conferences and held board positions for industry associations. Mr. Bodalski is a native of Philadelphia. He completed his undergraduate degree at St. Joseph's University and his graduate studies at Temple University.

After graduation Mr. Bodalski worked in Mexico City where he developed a strong proficiency in Spanish. In 2005 he published a novel "Lucy's Legacy" which addressed the topic of aging. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and being outdoors. He has four grown children and looks forward to visiting them in their home states. 


 

Lindsey DoodJ. Lindsey Dood

Director of Finance

Lindsey joined the Pavilions team in 2019 after 16 plus years as Chief Financial Officer for Metron Integrated Health Systems in Grand Rapids.  Prior to Metron, he worked six years in public accounting at Ernst & Young. He is a Certified Public Accountant (registered) and is a member of the Michigan Bar.  Lindsey has a BA in Business Administration from Hope College and a JD from the Illinois Institute of Technology-Chicago Kent College of Law. Lindsey serves by appointment to the Michigan Certificate of Need Commission and on the Hope College Board of Trustees (Finance Committee Chair and member of the Executive Committee).

Lindsey and his wife Lisa are Michigan natives.  They live in Interlochen and enjoy spending time outdoors with friends and family.  Both are award winning runners. They have five grown children and Sophie the frisbee catching dog.


 

Holly EdmondsonHolly Edmondson

Interim Director of Nursing

Holly Edmondson is the Interim Director of Nursing at Grand Traverse Pavilions. A graduate of West Shore Community College and Ferris State University, Holly previously worked for West Shore Medical Center in Manistee. In 1993 she moved to Long Term Care, first for Tendercare, then moving to the Pavilions in 2006 as an Assistant Director of Nursing on our Birch Pavilion. In August of 2011 she was promoted to her current position as Director of Nursing. Holly holds a Board Certification in Geriatric Nursing, Certified Director of Nursing credentialing as well as Board Certified Infection Preventionist.   

When not at work Holly enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and son-in-law. She also enjoys gardening, kayaking, and hiking.


 

Diane MalloryDiane Mallory

Human Resources Director

Human Resources Director Diane Mallory has been at the Grand Traverse Pavilions for 5 years. She started in the Financial Management Department in 2014 before being promoted to her current position. She previously worked in Human Resources for the Maples in Benzie County and is a member of the Traverse Area Human Resource Association.

She and husband Jeff settled in Northern Michigan after his retirement from the Coast Guard. During the course of his career they had the opportunity to live all over the United States including Alaska, Northern California, and Ohio. They have three grown children.

In her spare time, Diane likes to spend time with her husband and grandchildren, preferably outdoors biking, hiking or fishing.


 

Kristen SemeynKristen Semeyn

Wellness Center Director

Kristen Semeyn, the Wellness Center Director, has been employed by the Grand Traverse Pavilions for over 9 years. Kristen is a physical therapist with 21 years of experience ranging from geriatrics, neurological rehabilitation, manual therapy, home health care, aquatic therapy and skilled nursing rehabilitation. She focuses on patient centered care and working with families and residents for the best possible outcome. She encourages daily movement and exercise to maintain the highest level of independence for patients. She attended Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001, and a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2003.

Kristen grew up in the Suttons Bay area and returned to Traverse City in 2005. She has 3 children and loves being outdoors with them, cycling, running, paddle boarding, hiking, and skiing.


 

Melissa GomezMelissa Gomez

Residential Services Director

Melissa Gomez serves as the Residential Services Director for The Cottages at The Grand Traverse Pavilions, where she is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Independent Living, Assisted Living and Overnight Respite Services. Melissa has over 10 years of clinical and caregiving experience in a wide variety of settings including, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Hospital Inpatient Oncology and the Emergency Department. She then explored the case management side of care where she was a Resident Care Manager for Northern Pines Assisted Living for one year and a Program Manager at Beacon Specialized Living for one year. Melissa has a passion for providing exceptional care on a full-spectrum while enhancing the quality of life for the senior community.

Melissa lives in Grayling, Michigan and enjoys spending time with her family and loves to be outdoors enjoying all seasons that Northern Michigan brings.


 

Dan ButlerDan Butler

Information Systems Director

Dan Butler is the Information Systems Director for Grand Traverse Pavilions. He started as an Information Systems Technician in 2000 and is responsible for all technologies used at the Pavilions including phones, call lights, cell phones, tablets, wifi, networks, security, and of course computers.

After serving 8 years in the United States Marine Corps, Dan attended Lansing Community College and Baker College. He has an MBA with a concentration in Computer Information Systems, and is certified in Novell, Microsoft, and is a Ubiquiti Certified Installer. 

Outside of the office, Dan is very involved in his church, serving on the Church Council, as an Elder, Worship Assistant, Youth Group Leader, and Sunday School Teacher. He's also worked with the Traverse City Young Professionals and assisted several small non-profits by donating his time and talent. 

He and his wife have three children.  Dan is active with his kid's school functions including coaching sports both at their schools as well as through the YMCA and TBAYS program. Dan and his family like to camp; spending time together at the lake. He also enjoys an occasional round of golf to relax.


 

Tim CogginsTim Coggins

Environmental Services Director

As Environmental Services Director for the Grand Traverse Pavilions, Tim Coggins is responsible for the physical building and its systems, including the cottages and grounds.  He is also responsible for the maintenance, custodial, central supply, housekeeping and laundry staff.

Tim attended Lake Superior State University, earning degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Automated Systems Engineering.  Prior to coming to the Pavilions, Tim spent fourteen years as an engineer at Cone Drive in Traverse City and then became owner/operator of his own remodeling company for ten years.  He worked at the Pavilions as ES Director from 2014 thru mid-2016, took a hiatus to work for a manufacturing company in town, and returned to the Pavilions in late 2019.

Tim is involved in his church, serving on Church Council as Chairman for the Board of Trustees. Tim and his wife, Kim, have two grown children and enjoy camping together in the local area, as well as in the Upper Peninsula.  Tim also likes to relax with some recoil therapy at the shooting range.


 

Darcey GrattonDarcey Gratton

Administrative Services Director

As Administrative Services Director, Darcey Gratton is responsible for assisting the Administrator/CEO and the Organization's executive staff with development, implementation, and management of programs for the Organization.    Darcey also serves as the recording secretary to the DHHS as well as other Boards.  Darcey also manages ongoing operations of the reception staff, oversees the employee Child Care Center and is the organization’s (FOIA) Freedom of Information Coordinator.  Since joining the Pavilions family in 2004, Darcey has held several positions of increasing responsibility through Administration.  Darcey provides high-level advisory support, involving research, communications and office management and has always worked to keep the Organization striving for excellence with the overall mission and vision of the Grand Traverse Pavilions.

  


Dr. April KurkowskiDr. April Kurkowski

Grand Traverse Pavilions Medical Director

Dr. April Kurkowski serves as Medical Director for Grand Traverse Pavilions. Dr. Kurkowski received her Bachelor Degree in Biology at Madonna University, after which she attended medical school at Kansas City University in Kansas City, MO. She completed her residency at Munson Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident during her final year.

Dr. Kurkowski stated, “I have always had an interest in geriatric medicine and have made that a part of my private practice before joining Indigo Health Partners then transitioning to Sound Physicians. I think it is important that our elders have providers who care about not only their physical health but mental and spiritual health as well. Advocating for this population is an honor.”

In her spare time, Dr. Kurkowski enjoys reading, spending time with her family and dogs.
