Job Information:

• Grand Traverse Pavilions is seeking a motivated, full time Campus Manager. 

• This position works after hour shifts for a total of 60 hours over two weeks. 

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

• All employees must demonstrate that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

 

Tasks:

• Support the mission of Grand Traverse Pavilions.

• Embrace and support the Quality Assessment Performance (QAPI) philosophy of Grand Traverse Pavilions striving toward continuous improvement of tasks and systems.  Advance recommendations for quality improvement to respective supervisor. 

• Comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations as defined in the Organization’s Code of Conduct.

• Maintain strict confidence regarding content and/or discussion related to records and information of constituencies.

• Promote environmental safety by compliance with Organization’s Safety Policies/Procedures, and by monitoring for safety compliance by constituencies.

• Function within and support compliance of approved nursing, medical and organizational standards and policies, as well as applicable rules, regulations, and laws. 

• Exercise a high level of public relations and communication skills including consistency and diplomacy. Maintain professional working relationships with employees, and promote collegiality and inter/intra-departmental cohesiveness. 

• Through Organization-wide rounds, observe and evaluate the general shift operations for overall operational integrity, the presence of, or potential for, problem situations in the environment. Authority to modify work assignments using independent judgement and discretion. 

• Exercise initiative and independent judgment in adapting or developing solutions to meet emergency or unusual conditions.  Identify, investigate, and intervene as appropriate when problem situations or concerns arise.  Consult the Administrator and/or designee as necessary and communicate pertinent information to the appropriate Manager and/or Director.

• Provide leadership and direction with the interpretation, application and enforcement of operating policies and procedures and professional standards including nursing, medical and long-term care standards, and rules of conduct.

• Responsibly directs employees using independent judgement.

• Act as professional role model and consultant in health care and employee issues.  

• Serves as a supervisor to the nursing department.  Assist Managers with employee evaluation of performance, and effectively recommend appropriate corrective action on a timely basis.  Assist in administering corrective action and evaluations.  Act as liaison between nursing employees; between nursing and other employees, physicians, visitors and residents.

• Promote employee development of problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Utilize resources appropriately, maintaining the integrity of organizational budget.

• Assume a leadership role for activities on shift(s) acting as liaison among all residents, family members, visitors and staff of Grand Traverse Pavilions.

• Assist in development and/or implementation of Quality Improvement programs. 

• Assist in administering in-services and education.  Acts as an extension of staff development.

• Responsible for staffing the building and following the current practices of the staffing department.  Will work within the bounds of the employee handbook, union contracts, and current facility practice when staffing the building.  Call in the on-call employees after hours when necessary, and manage scheduling needs.     

• Recognize and report to Administrator/designee all occurrences which might result in liability to Pavilions.  

• Fulfill role of nurse for Cottages during assigned hours.  Follow current facility practices with regard to managing the care of the residents at the cottages. 

• Assist in the interviewing and recommendation process for hiring potential candidates.  Will assist in the discipline and termination of employees. 

• Assist in policy revision and development.  

• Perform other duties as assigned.
